The Jathika Jana Balavegaya (JJB) today questioned as to what happened to the video footage of the shooting that took place inside the Mahara Prison during the unrest. JJB MP Vijitha Herath said a video footage showing a fight between two groups of inmates at the prison has been released to media. “There was a shooting inside the prison during the attempts taken to control the unrest. Where is the shooting?,” he questioned in Parliament today. He said the unrest at the prison was a result of authorities’ failure to conduct enough PCR tests on the inmates.
