KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) have won the AFC Cup Club of the Decade award. The Southern Tigers received 80 per cent of the votes followed by Iraq's Air Force Club (12 per cent), Qadsia SC of Kuwait (six percent), Kuwait SC (two per cent and Lebanese club Al Ahed FC (two per cent). The poll by AFC is a reflection of the success and progress made by Asian clubs in the past 10 years. JDT made their mark on Asian football when they created history to become the first team from Southeast Asia to win the AFC Cup in 2015. The AFC said: “In a tournament that has been dominated by teams from the West (Asia), Malaysia's JDT stand as the sole team from the eastern region of the continent to taste AFC Cup glory.
