Pakistani troops Monday resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling and small arms fire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The Indian army was has been retaliating to Pakistani ceasefire violations. Sixteen years after India and Pakistan signed a ceasefire accord, there has been a spike in the number of violations by Pakistan. “Indian Army retains the right to respond at a time and place of it’s choosing in case Pakistan Army continues to assist terrorist activities across Indian borders,” Army sources earlier said.
