'It's the worst possible time for these works'


Business people on Church Street are deeply concerned over the timing of the long-flagged Church Street water-mains works. But Kerry County Council has moved to assure them that any disruption to their water supply will be minimal at worst. That was according to Kerry County Council senior executive engineer Colm Mangan following representation from a number of local councillors regarding Church Street traders' fears. The Church Street work follows the Bridge Road mains replacement scheme that commenced last year. Which wasn't a very good time to start [Church St] and for that reason, because we wanted to minimised disruption, the Church Street job was deferred and money was lost.
