AdvertisementFor the West, the unintended consequences of invading Iraq and toppling Libya’s Gaddafi placed a natural dampener on the desire for intervention in Syria. There appears little interest, however in helping to rebuild Raqqa. It is not too late to do some good in Syria. It is too late to save the western half of Syria from Assad, but it is not too late to protect those who remain outside the reach of his cruel regime.
