The PGA Tour have cancelled this week’s Players Championship and a host of upcoming events amid the Covid-19 global crisis. Confirmation of the suspension came after the opening round of the Players Championship at Sawgrass. “It is with regret that we are announcing the cancellation of The Players Championship,” read a PGA statement. “We have also decided to cancel all PGA TOUR events – across all of our Tours – in the coming weeks, through the Valero Texas Open. "It's a scary time and I think the PGA Tour have taken a step in the right direction and I think we just have to take it day by day,'' said McIlroy.
