President Donald Trump blasted House Democrats on Monday after they announced the launch of a new 'abuse of power' investigation with 81 separate document requests to people and organizations inside the president's orbit. 'It’s a political hoax,' Trump said as he hosted an event for college football players at the White House. 'The House Judiciary Committee´s letter has been received by the White House,' White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said. 'The (White House) Counsel's Office and relevant White House officials will review it and respond at the appropriate time.' Republicans in Congress accuse Democrats of pursuing an impeachment agenda as part of a political strategy to reclaim the White House in the 2020 election.
