Many organizations having come to realize that it’s easier to find new leaders than to transform the old leaders. Only the rarified few are able to leave behind old beliefs to create new business models. Unfortunately for tenured leaders, surviving in the rapidly changing and increasingly competitive marketplace requires exactly that—new, more valuable business models. And the inability of existing leaders to create these transformations is leading to a great leadership turnover. Automotive, lodgings, finance, and retail have caught the front of the wave, but no industry will be left untouched now that networks and AI are the fueling new business models.
