Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reaffirmed on Tuesday that Rome is not participating in the offensive against Iran and “has no intention of doing so.”In an interview with the Pulp podcast, as reported by the Adnkronos (AKI) news agency, Meloni stated: “Our mission is to promote de-escalation.” She characterized the current crisis as part of a broader context involving the weakening of international institutions. “We are witnessing a clear crisis in international law, where unilateral decisions are on the rise and institutions are becoming less effective,” the Prime Minister remarked. She specifically pointed to the difficulties facing the United Nations, noting that it is “no longer able” to fully perform its role as a guarantor of the international order.
