The privilege was withdrawn earlier as Bangladeshi workers violated the conditions by not returning home at the end of the seasons related to the program. "At our request, the Italian government has finally agreed to include Bangladesh in its Farm Workers Program," Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Monday night. "The Italian government had earlier withdrawn this privilege as Bangladeshi farm workers, instead of returning home after each season, never returned home, thus violating the conditions of this program," he said. "This year, when Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met her counterpart in Rome, she requested him to include Bangladesh in their Farm Workers Program," said the minister.
