"Regarding global issues, the first thing I would like to stress is that the problems we face are those that we cannot solve alone. Therefore, dialogue and exchange of opinions between the countries is in demand in order to achieve common goals ... Italy looks forward to Russia's contribution to settlement of the crises we face both in the Middle East and North Africa, above all, in Syria," Fico stated. He also pointed out the need for Europe to cooperate with Russia. "It [Europe] has a duty to cooperate with Russia on international platforms. Fico along with a group of other Italian lawmakers is currently on a two-day official visit in Moscow, which started on Monday.
