ROME—Italy’s parliament passed a new electoral law that could diminish the success of the antiestablishment 5 Star Movement in next year’s elections. On Thursday morning, Italy’s Senate gave final approval to the new law, which is a mix of proportional and first-past-the-post electoral rules. The law was passed by the lower house earlier this month.
