Michael Osei made this assertion when asked whether Black Stars Coach Charles Akonnor can guide the team to the trophy. But he believes that the Black Stars team is not yet ready to achieve that fate. “It will be very difficult to win the AFCON title next year”, he told Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Wamputu Sports on Happy 98.9FM. The AFCON title has eluded the Black Stars since 1982 when they last won it in Libya.
