It looks like empty California desert, but it's Slowjamastan

The infrastructure of Slowjamastan, on the right side of the road, includes a mailbox and, in the background, the kiosk of the border crossing. A San Diego man who achieved his life goal of visiting every country in the world has moved onto his next project: He has created his own country in the California desert. Randy Williams, a late-night radio DJ, is now the sultan of Slowjamastan, an 11.07-acre “micronation” west of the Salton Sea. The Republic of Slowjamastan claims over 500 registered citizens, while 4,500 more are said to have been conditionally approved or are waiting in line for citizenship. There is an enormous “Welcome to Slowjamastan” sign by the highway, as well as a border crossing with a guard kiosk.
