GEORGE TOWN: The issue of uncontrolled hillslope developments in Penang was raised by Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong during the Cabinet meeting today. He also cited development projects in Tanjung Bungah as an example, stressing that it had increased by several folds in recent years. "If such development projects continue unabated, this will lead to disasters in future. Mah, who is also Gerakan president, also said that they had raised RM628,000 to help flood victims in the state. "The main focus now is to help the flood victims rebuild their lives," he said, adding that the party would continue to provide assistance and services to alleviate the sufferings of the flood victims.
