Israel's Shimon Peres hospitalized after stroke

Jerusalem (CNN) Former Israeli President and Prime Minister Shimon Peres has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke on Tuesday, his office said. Peres , 93, was taken to Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan outside Tel Aviv after suffering a "brain episode," the office of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said. He has been sedated and intubated in order to "ease the continuation" of treatment, according to a statement from his office. Peres was rushed to the hospital in mid-January after suffering a minor heart attack. He underwent emergency surgery and got a stent, but would not be slowed down, asking the doctor how soon before he would be up and running again.
