Among those killed in Gaza was Taysir al-Jabari, a top Islamic Jihad leader, according to a statement by Palestinian Islamic Jihad. “In an initial response to the assassination of our leader, Taysir al-Jabari and his comrades, our fighters fired dozens of missiles at enemy towns,” Palestinian Islamic Jihad said in statement. The Israeli military said it conducted additional strikes inside Gaza, including at rocket- launching sites. “The responsibility is with the parties to avoid this from happening.”Gaza is governed by the Hamas militant group, usually considered a rival of Islamic Jihad. On Tuesday, Israeli forces arrested Bassam al-Saadi, an Islamic Jihad leader, after a firefight in the West Bank city of Jenin.
