A blast that hit a building in a residential area in Damascus, Syria, has killed two people, according to Syrian state TV. The building was hit by an Israeli strike, according to reports, damaging the fourth floor of a 10-storey building, shattering window glass in nearby buildings and damaging dozens of cars. Reuters reports witnesses heard several back-to-back explosions, which scared children at a nearby school, and ambulances rushed to the area. The neighbourhood consists of residential buildings, schools and Iranian cultural centres and lies near a large, heavily guarded complex used by security agencies.
