“Leave or go to prison” this is the ultimatum given by Israel to African migrants. After spending years in Israel in dire conditions, 12 Eritrean migrants decided to make the journey to Rwanda. Aside from the aforementioned groups of migrants, there are around 38,000 migrants that Israel considers as “infiltrators”. According to the UN refugee agency, this policy violates international and Israeli law. The African Jewish minority that’s been granted asylum or citizenship are marginalized.
