From 4h ago 14.12 BST Egyptian foreign ministry blames Israel for blocking aid to Gaza The Egyptian foreign ministry has accused “western media” of targeting the country about the Gaza humanitarian crisis. In a social media post, Erdoğan called on the establishment of a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible. The Prime Minister welcomed efforts by Egypt to reopen the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza as soon as possible. The Prime Minister said that £10 million uplift to the UK’s humanitarian aid to the region was the first manifestation of that commitment. All leaders must work together to avoid any regional escalation and ensure humanitarian aid reaches civilians in Gaza.
