John Folau has been released from his contract with the Waratahs. John Folau has been granted an immediate release by the NSW Waratahs for personal reasons in an apparent act of solidarity to his brother Israel, who has been banished from the code. Israel Folau is expected to take RA to court over his sacking. John Folau was named on the Waratahs' bench against the Sunwolves in round seven in Newcastle but did not take the field. He has represented an Emerging Waratahs team throughout the year and featured for Western Sydney in the Shute Shield.
