Israel Folau: Australian union bosses defend right of workers to express religious beliefs

Australia's national construction union would defend workers sacked for expressing their religious beliefs and one of its leaders believes Wallabies star Israel Folau has been unfairly "hung out to dry" for posting his religious views on social media. His personal view was that Folau should not be "hung out to dry" for voicing his religious beliefs. GETTY IMAGES Israel Folau, seen here during a Wallabies captain's run in Argentina in 2013, was sacked by Rugby Australia. "I don't think anyone's employment should be threatened because of their religious views and I don't think an airline should interfere with someone's employment," he said. "Israel Folau is the latest in a long line of employees who have been poleaxed by ridiculously broad workplace policies."
