Sally Cooper, owner of The Kitchen@London House on Ventnor High Street, took to the Daily Mail to discuss the abuse she received when her restaurant announced it would no longer serve vegan options in August 2022. The County Press reported that the eatery faced backlash on social media, and later apologised and explained its reasons for not catering for vegans and tackled what it called ‘social media bullying’. Sally's Daily Mail piece explains the abuse which left her in tears, saying the people who heaped hatred on to her 'believe they're the righteous, kind ones... because they're vegans'. However, the article references Sally's bistro, which opened next door to her London House restaurant during last year's vegan controversy.
