ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police chief chose to not invite the martyred police officers’ families to the bike rally meant to pay tribute to police martyrs on Sunday. The police chief and senior police officers were present at the superbike rally which kicked off with over 300 superbikes from the twin cities to pay tribute to 49 martyrs of the Islamabad police. Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amir Zulfiqar said that the rally has been arranged on the request of Islamabad bikers to pay tribute to martyrs of their police force. “Out of 49 martyrs of Islamabad police, only three martyrs’ family members are left to get martyr’s allowance,” he said. Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Traffic Farukh Rashid said that they have gathered to show to the national and international community that Islamabad is safe city for all citizens.
