Dar claims reject­ion of nomina­tion papers is violat­ion of 'norms of justic­e'ISLAMABAD: Former finance minister Ishaq Dar challenged the order of Returning Officer (RO) of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) who rejected his nomination papers for the upcoming Senate elections. Dar filed a petition through his counsel in an appellate tribunal court of the Lahore High Court (LHC) contending no legal formalities were fulfilled during scrutiny of his nomination papers. He argued against the RO’s decision and requested his nomination papers to be accepted. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced on Thursday that it would challenge the nomination papers of former finance minister and senior PML-N leader Ishaq Dar, filed for the Senate elections, due to a pending corruption reference against him.
