Only four NBA clubs, and just one Eastern Conference team, won more games than the Raptors, but there were all kinds of times this seasons when Toronto’s basketballers sure didn’t feel like a top-five NBA team. As much as we wonder about this Raptors team and what it is exactly compared to last year, so too is the entire basketball universe confused about the defending NBA champions from Cleveland. And a Toronto team at full strength is probably the only one that would stand a real chance against Cleveland. There’s a belief among many that the Greek Freak is the next great NBA player, a future MVP, perhaps as soon as next year. That may be true, but it seems likely the Raptors are actually the team closest to a championship at this very moment.
