The country was marking the 55th Jamhuri Day celebrations and the President looked sharp in the outfit. ​This was in line with the Trooping of the Colour which was being led by the 17th Battalion Kenya Rifles. The Red Tunic was also worn by former Presidents Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. A photo of the Head of State and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta walking around State House. The two wore hearty smiles and looked happy together as they headed out.
