I know I’m not giving anything away with that — I saw that final across clue on my first sparse pass through this Mark Diehl grid, but it didn’t help much. I thought this was a very difficult, rewarding, clever Saturday puzzle and it would have been a killer on a Thursday. Tricky CluesI had a terribly tough time getting started on this grid and had to make some wild guesses and then sleep on it. The driest things in the grid today were the two “corporate” spans, BALANCED BUDGETS and PROCEDURE MANUALS. If you’re doing a “Lean,” above this entry at 26A, you’re on the BIAS, but if you’re the “most askew” then you’re the WRIEST.
