Is The U.S. Failing To Lead On Climate Change?

China surpassed the U.S. in carbon dioxide emissions in 2006, and they have increased by nearly 40% since -- while emissions in the U.S. have declined. In the past 10 years India's carbon dioxide emissions have increased by 83%, and they have increased 37 years in a row. If current trends continue, India's carbon dioxide emissions will surpass those of the U.S. in the next decade. But of the three countries, the U.S. is the only one forecast to see a decline in carbon dioxide emissions over the next 10-15 years. It can be argued that the U.S. should be doing more, especially in light of our legacy carbon dioxide emissions.
