Until now India’s most powerf­ul foreig­n policy instru­ment is sellin­g of the idea that ‘Pakist­an is a rouge... The rest of the world looked at India as a huge vehicle that provided them with indisputable opportunities for making wealth. Most of the Indian (Modi government) premises based on which it built its anti-Pakistan policies have now turned out wrong. If Afghanistan descends into a forecasted political upheaval during or beyond the Afghan elections (May 2019), the repercussions for the Indian interests in Afghanistan would be severely damaging. The year 2019 may finally prove to be the deathbed of flawed built-up Indian premises, policies and narrative against Pakistan.
