Seventeen people were shot dead at a high school in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday afternoon. Watching the news yesterday my heart broke with grief seeing a Florida High School near where I live shattered by gun shots. This is the 284th school shooting in America since 2013, the 18th since the beginning of this year. Students are comforted by parents and family after a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. I felt a tangle of emotions, before total relief that it was not my son’s high school in St John’s County.
