An Irish man in his 50s has died following an avalanche in the Swiss Alps. Swiss police said three skiers had been caught up in the avalanche in an area near Ovronnaz in the Valais part of Switzerland on January 13. Emergency services were alerted to the incident and they located the man’s avalanche transceiver.
