The pro-life film, which is directed by Nick Searcy, has been criticised for allegedly villifying legal abortion by presenting Gosnell as typical of abortion providers. Vice President Mike Pence, who also opposes abortion, last week tweeted in support of another abortion film, Unplanned, which is based on the book by Abby Johnson,a former Planned Parenthood clinic director who is now an anti-abortion activist. Films have been screened at the White House since 1915.
