Zoology and Colonial history deeply inspire her work, and for “Amriya” Dunne’s installation features footage and photographs from Giza Zoo, Dublin’s Natural History Museum and Cairo’s Agricultural Museum, among others.“Amriya” is named after a 70-year-old Bedouin woman who Dunne was inspired by, which expands from a short film Dunne made back in 2014 about the woman and her orchard. The exhibit will feature photographs, sculptures and an installation that are the fruits of Dunne’s labor across four years of work of her two documentary projects in Egypt and Ireland.A live performance by sound artist Asem Tag will be held on the opening night of the exhibit.
