I have spoken with many people old and young who experienced first-hand the mischievous ways of the fairy folk. Apparently fairy folk cannot perform magic when confronted with either iron, steel or the Bible. The hawthorn tree is native to Ireland and believed to be the dwelling places and watchtowers of the fairy folk. We have established that in the 21st century people still very much believe in the fairy folk.
