CIY, a youth charity based in Dublin, Belfast and locations around the world, will host the first premiere of an award-winning short film about Ireland's suicide epidemic and the effects it has on our culture and young people. Recent studies indicate suicide is the leading cause of death in young men between the ages of 15-34 across Ireland. Unseen was shot in Ireland in March of 2017 and has gone on to win Best Short Film in Ireland at the Richard Harris Film Festival as well as being a finalist in the Galway Film Festival. The film features Irish actors Bob Carley and Desmond Eastwood and was developed by a mostly Irish-based crew. Jasper Rutherford, CIY’s European Director says “This film is an incredibly powerful tool to help young people and young adults talk about their own mental health.
