On the 25th and 26th of February Ireland’s inaugural National Security Summit takes place in the Helix Dublin and the event aims to start a much needed public debate on important security issues that touch on all aspects of our lives. The summit will connect government, academia, business and the public to encourage informed debate of Ireland's national security needs and requirementsThe 2020 summit is organised by Slándáil a volunteer non-profit group that aims to promote discussion and debate of national security issues. The summit will connect government, academia, our business community and the public in order to encourage informed debate of our national security needs and requirements. Right now the national security architecture is undergoing unprecedented changes with the organisational transformation of An Garda Síochána, the creation of a National Security Analysis Centre, growing calls for a comprehensive re-evaluation of defence policies and capabilities and the formulation of our first National Security Strategy.
