Now, voters are about to go to the polls to have their say on arguably the most bitterly and repeatedly contested issue in modern Ireland: abortion. Too young to vote in the referendum, she still feels she must campaign for Yes vote. She contacted the Abortion Rights Campaign in January, and then the Dublin Bay South repeal campaign. While several months, even weeks, ago a Yes vote seemed inevitable, polls are narrowing. In Roscommon – the only county to vote No to marriage equality – a mother aged 60 was voting No while her daughter, 27, said she would vote Yes.
