But the Trump administration hasn’t made use of its sanctions power, part of its overall failure to confront Shiite militias and their malign influence in Iraq. But he also gave interrogators juicy information on other militias supported by Iran, including Jaish al-Mahdi and the Badr Organization. Without American troops to support them, the Iraqi government turned to the Iranian-supported militias, including AAH.
