Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi predicted Sunday that his country will defeat Islamic State military forces “within weeks” but acknowledged the terror group will continue to exist until it’s eradicated in Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East. “We are defeating them militarily,” al Abadi told “Fox News Sunday.” “As a terrorist organization … they will try. Iraqi and coalition forces have increasingly turned to artillery and airstrikes in the difficult fight. We are victims of terrorism,” al Abadi said. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis recently met at the State Department with al Abadi and foreign officials to explore new ideas to expand the fight against ISIS in Mosul.
