BAGHDAD—The Iraqi Parliament accepted Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi’s resignation on Sunday, opening a new phase of jockeying to find a replacement as antigovernment protests continued to grip the country. Mr. Abdul-Mahdi said Friday he would resign in response to a powerful rebuke by the country’s top cleric of his government’s handling of protests in which nearly 400 people have died since the beginning of October.
