Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier stated that Lebanon was included in a ceasefire agreement involving Israel, the United States and Iran. Israel on Wednesday carried out what it described as its largest strikes on Lebanon since the start of the war. Fars also reported that only two oil tankers have been allowed to cross the strait since the ceasefire came into effect. Meanwhile, a key oil pipeline used by Saudi Arabia to transport crude to the Red Sea — bypassing the Strait of Hormuz — has been attacked, according to three separate news outlets.
