Iranian state TV on Wednesday broadcast images of thousands of people rallying across the country in support of the government, as the authorities calibrate a response to the largest wave of antigovernment unrest in almost a decade. Authorities have arrested hundreds of demonstrators in recent days as the protests spread and the Interior Ministry warned against unauthorized gatherings. More than 20 people have been confirmed dead.
