VIENNA—Iran continues to fulfil the key requirements of the 2015 nuclear deal, the United Nations atomic agency said Thursday, despite the U.S. withdrawal from the agreement. Photo: GettyIn May, President Trump pulled out of the nuclear agreement, which curbed Iran’s nuclear development, saying the 2015 accord would not stop Iran from building nuclear weapons in the future. Under the 2015 agreement, most international sanctions on Iran were lifted in exchange for tight but temporary restrictions on Iran’s program. In response to the U.S. withdrawal from the accord, Iranian officials have warned that the country could rapidly restart its nuclear program. Top Iranian officials have complained about the absence of concrete action by the Europeans that would maintain European business investment in Iran, despite the U.S. sanctions.
