Coach Matt Campbell has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him on the Iowa State sideline through the 2025 season, the school announced Tuesday. “I greatly appreciate Dr. (Wendy) Wintersteen’s and (Iowa State athletic director) Jamie’s (Pollard) proactive approach to extending my contract,” Campbell said in a statement. Campbell, who turned 40 on Friday, led the Cyclones to a tie for third place in the Big 12 and a bowl game berth for the third straight season. Iowa State hired Campbell before the 2016 season, and in four seasons he has amassed a 26-24 record. Should Iowa State win its bowl game and finish 8-5, the Cyclones will have post three consecutive eight-win seasons for just the second time in school history.
