While that was interesting, during yesterday’s Q4, 2023 earnings report — which took place after the market closed — Meta announced a $50B share buyback plan, and declared its first quarterly dividend of $0.50. Aside from the obvious question of who knew what when, a dividend? AlreadySOME BULLS ARE SPECULATING NONSENSEspecifically suggesting this announcement will trigger a flood of new capital into the stock, and the share price will — to use their words — “moon”. And I certainly won’t be buying Meta at all, let me explain why. Facebook, aka Meta certainly fit this definition when it first launched.
