General News of Monday, 16 November 2020Source: www.ghanaweb.comInvestigations into ‘contracts for sale’ never started – Amidu explains delay in PPA boss caseMartin Amidu, Special ProsecutorSpecial Prosecutor Martin Amidu says his Office “never started investigations into the ‘contracts for sale’ allegations” levelled against Adjenim Boateng Adjei, former CEO of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) because his staff investigators have been compromised. In a statement issued on the Office of the Special Prosecutor website on Sunday, Martin Amidu gave an update on the referral of allegations of corruption against Adjenim Boateng Adjei to his office. Amidu explained that he had arranged with the Auditor-General (A-G) to review bank statements of Adjenim Boateng Adjei for the period 01/01/2017 to 31/08/2019. Through this arrangement, auditors from the A-G’s office were to assist investigators from the OSP to understand the review of Adjenim Boateng Adjei’s bank statements. Most on-going investigations were being unduly delayed for no apparent reasons in spite of constant reminders from the Special Prosecutor.
