Madeleine Redfern, now mayor of Iqaluit, was the executive director of the Qikiqtani Truth Commission. And this new understanding is a result of the amazing amalgamation of oral and written history achieved by the Qikiqtani Truth Commission, led by executive director Madeleine Redfern (now Iqaluit's mayor).
