The serious crash unit is investigating after a man suffered critical injuries in a crash in Mosgiel last night. Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond said police were called after a 56-year-old man crashed into a ditch in Stedman Rd about 10pm. Speed was believed to have been a contributing factor and the serious crash unit was at the scene today, he said. A St John spokeswoman said a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance attended the scene, and one person was taken to Dunedin Hospital in critical condition. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said crews from Lookout Point, Mosgiel and Roslyn stations assisted St John to free the injured driver.
