Invergarry Primary School pupils held a roadside demonstration recently as part of their campaign to cut the speed limit through their village. The children gathered on the pavement along the A87 on Wednesday November 22 to demonstrate to passing drivers the strength of their feeling that the part-time 20mph limit should become a full-time one. “The part-time 20mph speed limit at Invergarry is legally enforceable when the electronic signs are flashing, with the speed limit being 40mph at all other times. “The legal order that underpins the part-time speed limit is not specific to times, and the flashing lights can be set to be active – bringing the 20mph speed limit into force – for any times that suit the school’s requirements.”
